Disk Care

You might be surprised at how many damaged CD's and DVD's we get back, or at how they are damaged.
A fair number of them do NOT look like accidental damage, the scratches are just too bad to be an oopsy, unless you accidentally drop the disk data side down and run over it with your car.

What brings on this rant? A lot of the new, good movies we buy came back irrepairably damaged in less than 10 circulations.

Is it really that hard to take care of someone else's property? Is proper disk care so alien a concept? Or is it that people just don't care because it's not their own property? Would you treat your favorite DVD poorly or do you keep it in pristine condition?

I'm thinking we should heavily fine people who damage our disks like that, maybe that way people will start taking care of library property
